About US
Yakimar Izakaya is a Japanese izakaya restaurant in Carcavelos, bringing the energy and flavours of Tokyo street food to the Lisbon coast. Inspired by the classic Japanese tavern tradition, we serve bold, honest food in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
Whether you’re stopping by for a steaming bowl of ramen after the beach, sharing yakitori skewers over drinks, or exploring Japanese small plates for the first time — Yakimar is your spot on the Linha.
From crispy gyozas and tempura to slow-cooked chashu ramen and grilled yakitori over charcoal, every dish is made to share, savour and come back for. Vegetarian options available.

As a Japanese food lover who has been exploring authentic flavors for over 30 years and visited Japan almost every year, I tend to have a very strict standard. During my family trip to Portugal, we stayed in Paredes and found Yakimar. I’m giving them 5 stars because, as a new local business, they are doing a fantastic job with their hospitality and atmosphere.
The food is genuinely enjoyable and well-prepared. While it might not be the 'high-end' authentic style you'd find in Tokyo, it is very tasty for this region. The Izakaya skewers (chicken, pork, and beef) were juicy and grilled with care. A standout dish that my wife absolutely loved was the grilled zucchini with mentaiko—it was a great combination of flavors. The fried chicken with peanuts was also a pleasant surprise, adding a nice crunch to the meal. My Unagi Don was a solid choice as well. Although they use local rice instead of Japanese short-grain, the overall execution was impressive.
The highlight for my kids was definitely the decor. The shop is a paradise for One Piece fans, filled with great figures and posters that create a fun, high-energy vibe.
Most importantly, the owner and the staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. Their passion for what they do is evident, and it makes you want to support the business. Just a small tip for others: the digital menu photos show very generous portions, so manage your expectations accordingly. Overall, it’s a wonderful spot with great heart. If you're in Paredes, you should definitely drop by for the vibes and a solid meal

A really fun place to visit as fans of One Piece! They also have really good food, especially the Iberian pork skewers! The service was very friendly and helpful! I recommend this place even if you don’t know what One Piece is…

Good food, friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. New concept restaurant with variety of Japanese typical dishes. We tried Meat Yakisoba and Chicken Caril with rice and liked it very much. Planning to return with friends.

A new spot just opened in our neighborhood great interior and friendly staff. The ramen is tasty (even better with a little extra salt), we’re happy they opened and will definitely be back!
